chilly down south
I have to commisserate with you guys form the frozen north today. It was about 20 or so when I left home, and I wore my 13 oz, medium weight kilt to school.
I think it would have been wise to choose the 22 oz Gordon today, since it's also a little breezy! This is a fine kilt, but the lighter weight really makes a big difference in containing the heat (tremendous heat under the kilt, you understand!) and keeping the body warm.
I am showing off today since I have finally broken the 230 pound line and can now wear this kilt with comfort for the first time in several years! There will be photos later.

Congrats sir. Losing the weight should qualify you for a misses-ticket. Free to redeem for 1 new kilt!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Well, I never claimed to be good looking, so you won't be too disappointed. This is me before school:
Note the jaunty stance, the sassy look on the face, and the optimistic gleam in the eye as if thinking, "Anything is possible. They may actually learn something today."
Then there is this one, taken by a student who somehow managed to screw up the lighting:
By now, you can see that the optimism has passed and the lofty thoughts of learning have fallen by the way side. There is no hope for civilization.
Actually, it was a great day. But, as I stated earlier, next time it's going to be the heavier kilt when it's this cold. Ha!
