    Thorfinn Sporran,#75 Review

Ok, I really do feel like s**t. I came down with the flu (even though I got a shot) several days ago and it is not shifting. However I did get a a present in the mail today which made me feel somewhat better.

I received my Thorfinn sporran, #75 and it's a beauty. I'm bundled up in sweats and sweaters so I haven't put it on but I couldn't wait to share it with the rabble.

The sporran is a beautiful elk skin and it is very supple. Unfortunately the light doesn't do the colour any favours. The craftsmanship is truly wonderful. Turpin is a true artist and I consider myself very lucky to own one of these sporrans.

On the inside I asked for key fob, business card pocket, pen pocket and a pocket for my iPhone in it's armour. Of course everything fits perfectly and it sill has enough room to house a small family.

What was really a surprise was I hadn't been able to choose a second flap although I knew I wanted one. Turpin was going to send along a couple of leather samples for me to choose. Well I guess he saw my review of the Woollen Mill IoS kilt that I just received last week and....

The second flap is great and Turpin was so thoughtful to include it. I truly had no idea it was coming.

I'll get more pics of the sporran with the kilt when I feel better and of course those attending the NYC pub crawl this weekend will get t see it first hand.

Well done, it looks to truly be a work of art. In spite of Turpins many flaws he is a gentleman.

Honestly Turpins sporrans are the perfect modern sporran for a traditionalist like myself. The custom pockets he can create are perfect for all the junk we carry today. I know SWK's"cargo" sporrans are popular and I think they are great but I don't really see myself wearing one. This sporran is the perfect compromise. Traditional style and modern usability.

I am sure this won't be my only one.

Chef congratulations, I hope you are feeling better soon, As the owner of a Thorfinn sporran, I know from experience how happy you will be with your purchase.

Turpin great work as always, and a very thoughtful gesture.
