    William and the Night Train

I wanted to share this with all here.

This morning just before my 8yr old daughter was to go, she excitedly called me over to see a book she had checked out from the school library entitled: "William and the Night Train".

She said to me "Dad, there's a Scotsman wearing a kilt in it!"

I took a look and sure enough there were three illustrations of said kilted Scotsman:

Basically the story revolves around the train full of unique characters, who are all sleepy, and a boy named William who is very excited and can't sleep, and the train cannot leave until he goes to sleep.

The book is written by Mij Kelly (from York, England) and illustrated by Alison Jay (of London, England).

    Thanks

She loves our families Scottish /Irish history, the Highland Games, kilts & bagpipes. I have a feeling when she's older she'll out do the ol' man

I dislike the illustrations they are too elongated and distorted.

Or as I like to call it #2 on the wants list!!!
    GO Celtic!!

Terry- Instilling a love of reading is a gift that is one of the greatest a parent could give a child. I am so thankful my Mum gave it to me. Now giving a child a love of reading books with characters in kilts in it...now that is wonderful!!
I must add "William and the Night Train" to the list of books to buy my niece and nephew. Please thank your daughter for me.
