    York train museum

    Just a couple of photos inside the main building.
    One of the many old Engine's displayed

    This is a photo of inside of the Royal Mail Train, the picked up the mail on route & sorted it as the went along

    I hope you enjoyed the few photo's.

    I take my students to York each year, and seeing these pictures reminds me of some of the joys of teaching

    I will be in York next month. It's been many years since I last went to the Rail Museum so hopefully will get there then!

    Lovely pics, David, I especially like that one of you beside the Midland Compound 4-4-0, no.1000. Last time I was in that museum was at the railway bi-centenary festival in 2004.

    Fab pics David. Elaine and myself really must make an effort one day and get to York. I would love to look around this museum (Cilted of course ). You've now set a standard for all x markers who go there!

    When you do manage to visit York, try and make time to take one of the guided "Ghost Tours" in the evening! I went on one a few years ago, and it was very entertaining!
