thoughts on these two makers

I am considering a kilt from
Houston kiltmakers
Geoffrey Tailor
Twentyfirst Century Kilts

any experience? any differences between the three?

Geoffrey (Tailor) and 21st Century kilts are the same. Though the latter is their more "contemporary" line, as the name would indicate.

So, really, you've given two choices, and both are very reputable, indeed. You wouldn't go wrong either way.

I own a kilt and a kilt suit from 21st Century Kilts, with a third kilt on order. I'm very happy with both the quality of the products and the service, and can wholeheartedly recommend them. As JerseyLawyer says, 21st Century Kilts and Geoffrey (Tailor) are one and the same, so expect the same high standard.

have you worn it to court?

seems houston is a little higher regarding a full weight kilt any thing that sets them apart?

No, I don't wear a kilt to court, but that's because, well, I work for the government, and it would be frowned on, I suspect.

As for Houston Kiltmakers, I don't know. They're a very traditional maker, and I've only heard good things, but I don't own one of their kilts. I would say the difference of an ounce won't make much in the finished product.

CessnaTower wore his kilt to court...I think that's where he worked...

But then again, he lives in Scotland.

I've worn a Utilikilt to court at our local Magistrate Court...but it was a last minute call in and the judge knows me. When doing jury duty in the same court elected to wear pants so as not to be a distraction to the proceedings.
