Tartan Ball - Red Hackles Pipe and Drum

    Greetings all!
My wife and I recently attended the Red Hackle Pipe and Drum Ball. It was a grand event, there were approx 40 pipers and approx 12 drummers in a relatively small hall piping, drumming and marching their hearts out! The sound level was incredible and it was both exhilarating and crushing at the same time.

Their marching was very professional, very military-like, very precise. They compete in the State of Ohio with other similar groups and my understanding is they do very well.

I wore my Braveheart kilt and tux coat (see below), but now having seen traditional kilts up close, I have decided to make one for the next event.

    Enjoy!

Ah, and here I was thinking you meant the original Red Hackle, from Scotland. My dad has them on vinyl.

Glad you had a good time!

    Red Hackle

I believe it is a US extension of the original. Here's a link to their site:
