My New Sgian
This weekend while attending the Taste of Scotland festival in Franklin, I ran across the Bold Blades tent. They had this little beauty for sale and it just had to go home with me.
The handle is lace ebony with a bone cap. I rather like it!

Looks to be a wood handle of some sort. Any idea what? And what is the material at the top and bottom of the handle?

The handle is lace ebony. the wood towards the blade is black ebony and the cap is bone. Purdy, ain't it?

It's a good looking blade. Congrats on a good find.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

Nice!! I went to Colorado Rennaisance Festival this weekend, and managed to wonder into into one of those hand forged blade dealers. They had a dirk that I at first glance thought was a Roman Gladius, but when I looked closer, I could see that the handle was carved with thistles all over it. It was so strikingly beautiful... if I had had $1075 I would have bought it... I do believe in love at first sight... ***sigh***
