Anyone watch the History Channel tonight?

The show was "Warriors" and the narrator (forget his name) was in Scotland, learning how they fought, the weapons used, forging techniques and how Sir William Wallace defeated the Brits at Stirling Bridge and some of the tactics he used.

It was a fantastic show, if it replays you should see it.

It aired at 2200 hours EST in the US in case you;d like to order it on discovery.com or look for it later...

As part of a Renaissance re-enactment guild I am always looking for stuff like that. I will probably order a copy. Thanks for the info.

I watched it on Saturday morning.

It was fantastic, they had these medieval looking scots and this one guy was really impressive. A beard about 18" long, the amazing scot accent and growling and attacking the host that can barely keep up as he was backtracking at this guy lunging at him with a battle axe.

It was about the 'tech' and the people that made the Battle of Stirling bridge the success it was.

The group is the Clanranald Trust for Scotland and the fellow you mention is Charlie Allan, their Chief Executive Officer.

I always enjoy watching shows like this one and seeing people I've actually had the opportunity to meet on my trips across.

The Clanranald Trust works tirelessly to educate people on Scotland's rich history and culture. Take a look at one of their more recent projects, the DunCarron Fort for an example. And you really get an eye-opener to watch one of their battle re-enactments and see them turning each other's shields into toothpicks. When they re-enact a battle scene, about the only thing missing is the gore.
