Where to get leatherworking stuff?
I've been looking everywhere for leatherworking supplies. Tools, leather itself, etc. It's hard to get addicted to something without first knowing how to get ahold of it.
I'm in Fort Worth, TX, so you'd think there'd be some kind of leather working place nearby. Seems all I can find is places willing to custom make saddles and such.

You could try Tandy Leather (http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com) - they seem to host the Al Stohlman Museum at Ft Worth, but I don't know where their main site is.
I get a lot of stuff from Weaver Leather (http://www.weaverleather.com/) - they're at Mt Hope, Ohio. Their tools are good (getting good leatherworking tools is a big problem), as they make stuff for Amish saddlers and harness-makers.
Both of these do business by mail order. Tandy specialises in supplying leatherworking as a hobby, but I still get the odd tools and quite a bit of leather from their offshoot here in the UK. They're good on patterns, too (though I doubt if they do a pattern for a sporran).

Try:

For hides, e-bay is a good source. I have also found this site to be useful:

Tandy
Go to the Tandy web site and check the locations... I see Dallas and Mesquite have several.
we all posted at the same time. Ah, it happens. Good luck.

Tandy it is. I didn't think there were any here. There's several nearby.
The other links provided look to have nice things as well.
Thanks everybody

I agree with everyone on the recommendation for Tandy. There is a store here in Richmond, VA and they have a very good selection of everything. The only draw back I have found is that you have to buy the entire hide or piece of leather. They will not cut a hide up for you. That being said they have all kinds of stuff; lots of scraps, a full line tools, books, belt blanks, dyes, finishes, just about anything you want. I find it much better to be able to go to the store so you can touch and feel before you buy. Also, if you join their "club" you get a discount, that if you buy any amount of stuff is worth the price of addmission. And then you get additional discounts like, buy one stamping tool, get one free each month. Do check them out.
Good luck and please post pictures of your work when you get there.

As others have stated, try the Tandy website. Also, I found a nice Tandy store near me, and I would assume there is at least one in Fort Worth, TX. They also have a club that you can join, I think it's $30.00 per year and that entitles you to buy stuff at wholesale prices. I bought some stuff from a Tandy store recently and quickly became addicted.
