Nor Cal/So Cal rabble meet-up
I propose that as many of us as possible try to make it to the Seaside Games in Ventura and that Saturday night we have a monster kilt night.

October 10,11, 12 (the weekend after the Ben Lomond Games, for us Nor Cals)
I'm planning on going down and throwing, I'll FINALLY get to meet Yaish. Anybody else going to be there?
NOr Cals, anybody up for a carpool?

Bob and I will be there from San Diego! We are driving up on Friday, have reservations at La Quinta in Ventura which is a few miles away but reasonably priced rooms. Our home tent is Clan Donnachaidh -- hope to meet up with lots of our online friends!
Are we talking a Saturday night gathering in addition to daytime greetings?
Proudly Duncan [maternal], MacDonald and MacDaniel [paternal].

Alan, I actually have that weekend off! We will likely try to leave the kiddies behind this time. Carpool would be nice-you, me, W2F, and, umm, my husband? Actually I'd have to ask W2F about whether he's going. No definite plans yet, but we should be able to tell you at beer, err, umm kilt night next week whether we are able to ditch the kids or not.
Be well,

I did a little checking on line for a place to meet and found this spot. Looks like it's close to the location of the games and it appears to be family friendly for those of us with kids and teens.

I'll do my best to make it to the games and the meet up afterward.
Dargan's is a good place. I've eaten there on several occasions. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, though, so get there early and be prepared to walk a block or two.

I hate to go back on my word, but I just found out that the 11th of October is the annual Walk-A-Thon at my children's school. This is the major fund rasing event of the year, and one of the few fund raisers we actually enjoy, so we're going to have to stay in town.
I proposed that we walk in the event, then get in the car and drive for 6 hours, but Panache just groaned. Wimp! I think we'll have to stay home with our ibuprofen cocktails that evening.
Sorry.
Be well,

I'll go anywhere and can bring along one or two others in the truck. I'll be camping/crashing in the truck bed or maybe a tent. It won't be glamorous, but it'll be CHEAP. works for me.
