Meet-up
My wife and I just got home from meeting MKMound. We picked him up from his hotel and went out for a brew and a bite at the brewpub at the mall. A lady and her son stopped to chat with us for a few minutes and her son just might check in here. Seems he's rather interested in kilts after having been in Scotland. Other than that we had a nice chat before taking him back to the hotel to get his packing done.

Almost invariably, I've found that kilted folks tend to be pretty decent people to be around. I guess your fun meet up shouldn't come as a surprise.

Bubba,
MANY thanks to you and your lovely wife for your kind hospitality!!! I had a great time visiting with you both, and the chat we had with the lady and her son was the icing on the cake! (We invited him to join us here at XMarks . . . )
The Appleton / Little Chute area of Wisconsin seems to be quite friendly for kilties . . . I had a number of quite positive comments as I was out and about in the evenings. I was in the Kinkos / FedEx store to make some copies, and the FedEx driver picking up the evening shipments had studied in Scotland for two different semester courses. We had a nice chat -- unfortunately, I forgot to invite him to join us here . . . )
Regards,
Mark
p.s. Blu, you're quite right . . . over the last couple of years, I've had the pleasure of meeting a number of the folks from this board . . . a great bunch!!

Glad to hear that the two of you guys connected. It is truly grand to meet up with someone else from Xmark!
Eventually I will be meeting up with most everyone here, so take this as a warning (he laughs into his beard)

Yeah Mark, it is a pretty good area. Most folks don't say anything one way or the other about it. Very rare to hear anything but nice comments. We did have a nice time with you and if you get back this way let me know your schedule a day sooner and I'll feed you some properly made bratwurst. ;-)

It was great you two had a fine time . It's always fun to meet people you have only talked to through the forum.
Any pictures???

I also met mkmound a week or two ago (I can't keep track; time flies!). Unfortunately I was at work at the time, so the conversation was interrupted several times. Other than that, we had a pleasant time.

I'll take you up on that in two years when I hike the Continental Divide Trail, which passes near to Denver!
Andrew.
