Which style of flashes do you prefer?

I'm getting the stuff I need to make adjustable my own hose garters w/ flashes and was thinking about how many common styles I could make.
I usually make the single type out of printed materials.
If I use Grosgrain or wool ribbon I can do all three styles without too much bulk.
All 3 can have the Crisis pocket added to one or both sides as well.
What's your opinion on these?

I prefer the simpler style, my calves are not too tall and so the extra looks out of place. But someone with more substantial legs can carry off the looped versions, and the extra "depth" is kinda nice.

I like garter ties not elastic flashes, the elastic tends to dig into my legs the ties do not.

I like the double flash. It lies flat on your leg whereas the loop sticks ever slightly out.

Crisis Pocket is the term I used to identify a pocket added to the top part of the flashes big enough for a challenge coin, some bills, a small knife, etc. It's named after the guy who gave me the suggestion.
McMurdo; what size elastic were you wearing that dug into your leg? I'm planning on using 1". Since it's wider than 3/4", the "digging in" should be kept to a minimum.

I prefer the double, the looped version just doesn't do it for me, and the single looks too plain. I've not tried tying my own yet, but that method does seem to have a rather large following on this site. The idea of the "crisis" pouch is interesting, the bulk of the looped version would appear to give plenty of bulk to help hide the secreted area. Do you have any photos of the three styles so that we can better judge the look?

I've tried several different sizes, and for me the only flashes that do not dig in are the ones that came with my Royal Naval Assocciation tartan kilt from Barb Tewksbury, I'm not sure it's the width that matters but rather the length, even Locharron flashes dig in when adjusted to full length.
