Question USAK casual or something on ebay...

I have recently been in contact with Rocky at USAK. He currently has a casual American Heritage in my exact size. Everything on it would fit perfectly. However, I see on eBay these kilts that are made in large quantities that anyone could buy. I am just wondering what your guys opinion is on this. I know what Rocky would say. Would you pay an extra 40 dollars and get the custom casual kilt from Rocky or go the ebay route? I have a kilt from eBay, and it works pretty well. But I have never had a custom made kilt. So I don’t know if there is a huge difference. Any of you that have both, please let me know what you think. I am pretty much convinced in getting the USAK casual to wear during the hot summers here in Utah. I just wanted to get everyone’s opinion on this as well.

No, no! Don't get the USAK! There is no going back after you have had something custom made! It's a trap! Nothing good can come of it! You will only pine for more custom made stuff! Think of your children! You will leave nothing to your heirs but old kilts!

    Take care,
    Rex.

If your sizes are the same as mine then you DO NOT WANT THE USAK AMERICAN HERITAGE, should I repeat myself! Owning two USAKs, I honestly think there is nothing better for the Arizona summer, except for maybe a swim suit or nothing at all.
    Regards,

Part of me wants to say that it depends on who the eBay seller is, and the other part of me says, scr*w it. Get the USA. Good stuff, that.
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

I live in my USA kilts around the house. The are comfortable and don't wrinkle. You can't go wrong with a product from Rocky, but they are addicting. I have 4 casuals,4 semi-trad, and a premier from USAK. I used to have a 5 yd. wool as well, but recently sold it due to weight loss.

The question is, what is the material in the eBay kilt? Is it anything other than PV or wool- like acrylic? If so, don't waste your money. Acrylic sucks! PV is excellent. USA Kilts are beyond excellent. Go for the USAK.

I believe the stuff on eBay is PV. But although I am not sure, but it seems to me (and others posting here) that a custom made kilt is far superior than any factory made one.

Just blow off ebay and get the USA Kilt. $40.00 difference? It's a WORLD of difference. Don't waste your time on the ebay stuff.

I'd say go for a bit more and get an Semi-Trad, if that is completely out of range then I'd say go for the casual from USA Kilts. My reasons are that with the USA Kilt you will get a quality product at a good price, one that has been made with you in mind. With ebay you're never sure exactly what you are going to get.
