2009 Verde Valley Highland Games at Camp Verde, Arizona

Small but fun. Ran into Keys MacQuarrie in his Leatherneck tartan SportKilt right off the bat but somehow didn't get a pic of him...thought I did though.

Soon after ran in to Kennethrmc and his wife Marsha.

Thats a Burns check tartan skirt hand sewn by Kathy Lare.

Here's a shot of the pleats.

And here's a shot of Kenneth that emerged from the background of another pic.

Jelico Cat was there in his USA Kilts American Heritage semi-trad

Retro Red arrived from Phoenix just as I was leaving, but cool to see him.

The Verde Valley Highland Games were small by comparison to big city games, but even on this Western outpost folks turn out.

    Clan Donald had a booth

Thats me trying to pull the small red stripe out of my Macdonald of the Isles weathered hunting tartan. Hand sewn by Kathy Lare.

Southwest Skye Pipe and Drum marched

Clan Donald Marched with the Jacobites

A close up of the Jacobites

And...I was VERY VERY pleased to see a gentleman from Reston, VA at the Clan Donald tent wearing Macdonald Lord of the Isles. He's a honcho in Clan Donald USA...sadly, forgot his name. But after my hassle with a guy a few years ago saying only Prince Charles could wear it.

All in all a great time.

Thanks for Posting, Ron. Your pics of the gathering are much better than mine.

Retro Red -I was standing in front of you at one point and didn't even know it!

I agree...a small but fun event.
