Ike jacket pattern

I've been interested in the Ike style jacket to wear with my kilt, but they don't come up in my size much. I found a pattern dated from the 1940s, though, that is similar in style to the Ike jacket that I'm going to get. It can be found here: http://www.evadress.com/3969.html

I've bought patterns from EvaDress for both myself and my wife before and have recieved only the best service, and the patterns are excellent. When I do get the pattern and make the jacket I'll be sure to post pictures of how it turns out!

Do you mean the old WW II US Army jacket that stops just at the waist? I think that was also called a Battle Dress jacket? If that's what your talking about you might want to try looking at some police supply or surplus since some agencies used to use those for non-patrol uniforms.

What is your size? I have a swiss made gray blue color- probably 38-40 reg, doesn't fir me, my son doesn't want it so it hangs in the closet waiting. Happy to send it to a new home for the price of shipping. It is brand new, by the way.

GlassMan, thanks for the link, that's a nice looking jacket. I am referring to the WWII era battledress. My wife has a pattern 1949 British one, but the largest British one I've come across is too small for me. I wouldn't mind making my own, though, simply because I enjoy making things for myself. The pattern I linked to isn't an exact replica, it's more civilian, but it's close, and could be altered easily enough.

I myself wear US 42R/UK 44R- sadly is does not fit me- I could only get the bottom button closed. It came from Sportsmansguide.com and was sized incorrectly. I can post a pic if you like. somewhere there is a pic of Puffer in his- I'll see if I can find it.
