I don't quite understand what is this object you have pictured is?
I think I may have seen one once in a museum. Is it like a wax cylinder for a recording device?
Can you explain?

I didn't know you could play Rule Britannia on pipes. You know, vinyl is making a big comeback nowadays...

I have that album... Got it when it was hot out of the oven. So that I wouldn't wear it out, I recorded it on open reel. Played the open reel constantly. Most of the barracks I was stationed in were ready to hunt down my tape. I still have both... The sound is great and the performance very enjoyable.
Jamie,
The above terms are on wiki if you need them. They refer to a time honoured method of listening to audio presentations.

Man what a great find. I am reminded of the Elvis '73 Aloha from Hawaii Special 2 record set I found in an empty apartment I was helping clean out. Land Lord asked me to help him for just a minute. Laid my records down on an outside a/c unit helped with the task. Went back to get my records and fond that the unit had gotten hot in the summer sun and warped the bottom disc. I was very sad!
Slainte,
