Casual mode in the Lucas Theatre lobby

Yesterday we hosted a "package" show that included a matinee of a baseball movie (Take Me out to the Ballgame, with Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly and Esther Williams, 1949) followed by a bus ride to Grayson Stadium for an evening Sand Gnats game.

I'm a big fan of baseball and a big fan of kilts, but not a big fan of baseball caps with kilts. Nevertheless, given we what we were promoting, it made sense. Just happens that the Sand Gnats colors are green, yellow and black ala my MacArthur tank! Here's a shot of the kit in the lobby of my beloved Lucas.

Ken you look great and I confess I'm trying also to ignore the McArthur tartan (which you know is darn near impossible for me) and to take in as much detail of the Lucas lobby behind you. Can't wait to see it in person!

The cap and kilt look great (I'm a big fan of the two, now that I've learned how to not let ball caps make me look like an outpatient). I love the Sand Gnats logo and definitely want to get one of their caps. The MacArthur tartan...well, that will be my next kilt!

No, the Gnats lost, but you know, in Class A Ball, you quickly learn to love the game for itself and not be too concerned about the outcome. The boys play their hearts out, but the good ones move up and the others... well they're playing A Ball for a reason, bless them!

And Hey, I'm watching that Mets / Yanks game on ESPN as I type this! Jeter (not your dog!) just smacked a double high off the left field wall. My mom was from Chicago and my first team was the White Sox. I was a kid in Atlanta when the Braves moved there and became a fan long before they had their good run. So I have to admit, when it comes to Yanks / Mets all I can hope is for an long, extra inning game that wears out both their pitching staffs and sets them on protracted losing streaks.

Okay..... that's a different take on Southern Hospitality, but we can work with it, just as long as we stick with a fast-food drive-thru!

Always do! I'm now the "guy in the kilt" at Grayson stadium. On the rare occasion I don't wear a kilt the ticket-taker always asks where it is!

Ahhh... you can't ignore the power of the "MacArthur Side", young Jedi! You'll get plenty of chances to get acquainted with that and the Lucas lobby when you finally get back home!

    Best to you all!

Nice photo. It sounds like a great time. Nice looking lobby, I wouldn't mind seeing more of it.

Baseball is not a game I really know, now cricket on the other hand? The thwack of leather on willow. Tea and jam scones in the pavillion...
    Nice photo Ken.
