    Cool Saucer on the Lake

They just opened a new Flying Saucer in DFW this week. For those of you not familiar with the franchise, it's a pub touting over 200 types of beer (220 at this particular joint, IIRC). The uniform of the waitresses includes short pleated skirts. To the point that once I went to a another bar and a woman oh-so-cleverly asked me if I'd just gotten off work from the nearby Saucer. But I digress.

So my best mate and I decided to hit them up to welcome them to the area. After imbibing a tall draught, we decided to play some Cricket of the darts variety. Thoughout the night I'd gotten some stray glances, and the women in the establishment in particular were smiley.

Anyway, during my turn at the board, one of the other waitresses (not ours) came by and started talking to my friend. I thought she was chatting him up, bully for him! Quite the cutie, that girl. But no, she was asking him about me

My turn ended and he directed her to me so he could shoot. "So why are you wearing a kilt? Do you just like it, or are you Irish?"

"I do like wearing kilts, and I do happen to have Irish blood, not that that really matters"

"Oh, did the Irish even wear kilts? Is that a Scottish thing?" Kid you not. The leaps of logic this girl made were astounding

"Well, the Irish didn't wear kilts traditionally, but they wore something similar, called a leine..." at which one of her tables called her so she ended with...

"It's just cool... I have to wear this tiny little skirt! But you look like me." Then, as an afterthought - "Just more masculine."

Night ended with my beating my mate 2 out of 3 games of Cricket. Not too bad
