Browns of the South East kilt for friends funeral
A friend of mine passed very peacefully and around husband and family last week after 3 years of cancer. It was her request to have bagpipes, so I obliged. I was very proud to wear my MAtt Newsome BoxPleat in the now official sept of Clan Brown -"Browns of the South East". this was taken before we left for the cemetery-

Great outfit. I love the hose!
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

Sorry for their loss, and yours. The kilt looks great!
I don't know that I could play for family or friends, it would be tough and I would be so afraid of choking in a big way!

Amazing grace and sleep dearie sleep. Kinda weird, my friend had been very courageous up to the end and passed with her family and husband at hand. She asked if it was OK to go and everyone said yes. That was it. The funeral was actually very joyous somehow....Hard to explain, but she made time to say a long goodbye to everyone. I think that helped. Thanks for the condolences though.

Very touching, and with everyone there to walk her to the bridge. In some way, it makes it easier to know that the good fight has been fought, and the time to rest has come and is accepted. When we accept that our loved one is ready and wiling to make the trip, it somehow makes the passing more of a bon voyage! Know what I mean!
I applaude your strenght in being able to play your friend off!

Yes, I think you are right Josh, your friend had the time to process leaving this life, saying the goodbyes to friends and love ones and prepare herself in coming to her understanding what was on the other side of this earthy existence. Sounds to me she conquered death and is peace on the other side. My condolescences to all she has left behind.

That says, she was a very special person.. who lived a blessed life...reguardless of the outcome.. she made sure everyone was ok before she took her journey... I am glad everyone was able to think on all the good in her life, instead of focusing on the loss...
You look very dapper... and thanks for sharing this story with us..
