Once In A Lifetime!
I have it on good authority that a whopper of a kilt night is coming up in Victoria. There will be dignitaries from across North America in attendance.
If you have never been to a kilt night and you can only attend one in this lifetime, this is the one.
It will be on the weekend of October 23/24. What with the Olympics coming and all, this is the perfect chance for BC kilties to show the world how hospitable we can be.
Come on boys, let's do this one right.
And Colin, this is 5 weeks notice! No excuses!
Cheers all!

Now that the announcement has been made, I can reveal that the kilt night to end them all is for the passing of the torch. Hank will be travelling to Victoria to hand over the keys to XMarks!
A number of our esteemed moderators will also be joining in. Splash4, BEEDEE and Panache are confirmed.
This is scheduled for October 23, 2009. As I previously stated, if you can only attend one kilt night, this is the one.
I hope to see you there to celebrate this momentous occasion.

I've already been informed about the event some time ago. I can only go for the Friday, but I am in. I just have to figure out how I am getting there and where I am staying.

I am not sure about the other guys, but I am really looking forward to this. My wife and I have been wanting to visit Victoria for a while and this was just the excuse!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

I'm sorry Mikey but I think I'm busy that night.
I've got these guys coming to town, guys I have to pick up at the airport, and guys to find beds for.
So if you don't mind I think I'll go hide somewhere.

Friday the 23rd of Oct.
We will start at 6:00pm at my shop for a meet and greet with Hank. Then there will be a photo op.
We'll do the official hand over ceremony and everyone will get a chance to sign the logbook of the little dirigible Saltaire.
:blimp:
Then we will all head over to the Fernwood Inn or another venue downtown for some dinner and a few toasts.

To Grant, Glen, Rob and the other SOKS members, as the West Coast president, I'll do my best to represent you all.
