My Newest Sporran - Formal Silver Fox Sporran
Some of you already know this, but for those of you who don't, I love to make sporrans. Some of them I sell, but this one I made for myself. It is a formal Silver Fox sporran with the cantle. The fox was so big I had enough to make three different sporrans with it. So it worked out well. I really love the look of this fur. It is thick and has great color. I purposefully leave tassels off the front, I have never liked them. Thought I might share it with all of you.

Absolutely beautiful. I've been trying to find something like this for months. I especially like the cantle. I get tired of the same old unrealistically nouveau celtic dragons and thistles combo. All the old pieces I've seen are simplistic yet elegant. You've made a real classic here, and it's perfectly suited for almost every occasion. Good on ye

Beautiful work! Could you share with us where you got the cantle from, as well as some pictures of the back and inside...I'm thinking of trying the same thing myself and would appreciate any help or guidance.
Thanks
Laurie

On the offchance that someone here makes cantles, are they made from molds or constructed? If molds, do you know someone who will pour such a large mold? Do you know someone who does brass molding? OK, exceeded my question limit here!

Did somebody scalp Rex? Oh well at least he makes a dapper looking sporran as well.
