    Kilted Paratrooper!

Saw this on a paratrooper site that I frequent. Found it quite interesting.

    http://www.michael-mitchell.ca/news.html

Don't know if I would be brave enough to jump in a kilt. I had enough problems wearing BDUs.

    HOLY COW!!
    That must've been cold!

I've heard of (& seen pics) of kilted bungee-jumpers, but this is a first on me.

Ya jeez. Gives death from above a whole new meaning. Can you imagine being the enemy, looking up into the skies and seeing a regiment of *ahem* THAT dropping down on you? That would be something!

If the enemy looked up and saw a kilted paratroop regiment (regimental of course) descending upon them they would surrender on the spot!

They would only surrender if they were Scots,,, if they were French & kilted the fear factor would be negated

Just prior to that jump I was interviewed for what would indeed become my job here in Edmonton. Obviously I was then really interested in any news about Edmonton, and when I heard about this I was positively impressed. Edmonton was clearly home to a hardy and eccentric breed of men - my kind of place.

Oh, my, CNDSushi: were you there? That song came out later that same year, once I was working at the University of Alberta. I sang along, loud and often. And I was not alone in thinking of mighty Michael Mitchell, though by then I forgotten his name. Thank for the reminder, rdmchris!

But now that song is stuck in my head...

That adds a whole new meaning to the idea of going commando.
