Wool or PV What do you Prefer?
Its time for a Poll. What do you like your kilts made in? This poll is in regards to KILTS only!!
Please judge by factors other than Price. We all know wool costs more but if you prefer PV over Wool why? If you prefer Wool over PV why?
Do you prefer PV as it tends to be lighter or do you prefer Wool as it is more traditional and there are more tartans available?
Vote above and leave comments below.

I voted for PV...
I have a Utilikilt (cotton), 2 PV casuals from USAK and a woold casual from you fine folks at B&S. For me the type of kilt I prefer depends on when and where I'm wearing it. I usually wear the kilt around the house and I've found the PV kilts to be extremely comfortable for that. Being able to toss them in the wash if I spill something on them when cooking or gardening is great. Of course, it's also 85F with 75% humidity here today, so the PV is a nice option if I'm sitting out in the sun reading. Bad timing on your part. ;) Your wool casual is also very comfortable to wear, but I tend to think of it as my mini-tank, the kilt I pick for more formal occasions.
So is B&S thinking of adding PV to their line-up?

I prefer wool.
I think PV is great though.

We know that wool is the obvious and traditional kilt material, That being said,I think PV has some advantages for many kilt wearers, especially folks who wear the kilt daily.
The ease of cleaning and care are the first things I think of. I'll sport the PV to places I would be afraid of wearing more expensive wool kilts to. If I get a PV kilt dirty, sweaty, soaking wet, stained with food and drink, blood etc..or full of cooking, smoking, BO or other smells, I can throw it in the wash and with a little pressing it'll be ready to go the next day.
The lighter weight is good for a wide range of climates, especially warmer ones. And cost does have a factor here, the PV version of a given Tartan might cost less than half that of wool.
I think the only disadvantage of PV vs. wool is the limited (but growing) choice of tartans .

I voted for wool but Marton Mills PV is a close second

I prefer the wool, but like the PV option especially if the tartans of my choice were available, for reasons Zardoz noted above.
I voted no preference because I would wear a PV if it came in the tartan of my choice....i.e. Leatherneck,

Wool, once I got my first wool kilt, I didn't want to go back...have to though its really hard to wear 8 yards of 18oz wool in the summer.
Its like a C-130 next to a little windup plane.

I have a PV Kilt that I love! But I have to vote for wool because in every "Ghetto Vs. Gucci" argument I always wax on the Gucci side...

As there is only one weaving company producing a Polyester/Rayon blend fabric in Tartan and of a quality suitable for Kilts, and then only in 12 oz per fabric yard, any another weaving company that would begin to weave a quality fabric in weights of 14-16oz they would fill a gap we have needed for a long time.
I love the washability of P/V . I love how it holds a crease and resists wrinkling.
The only holdback currently is the light weight.
I had the only bolt I have ever heard of being woven in a true 16oz P/V and it was wonderful. The Kilt that was made from it rivaled Wool in swish.
