    Red Hose Race

    Have any of you ever been to the Red Hose Race held in Carnwath every June? It's the oldest foot race in the world and the winner receives a pair of red hose from my Chief, Angus Lockhart of the Lee. 2011 will mark the 503rd year the 3-mile race has been run. I'd like to see pictures of it, if anyone has any. I'd prefer to see the race first-hand, but that's not likely any time soon.

    Started by one of my Somerville antecedents, Barons of Carnwath
    in those days. If memory serves, sponsoring the race was a
    condition of accepting a grant of land from the Crown. Would be
    nice to see it run.
