A newbie showing off his first kilt!
For the Kilted Trooper Brigade (a group of kilted 501st Legion Troopers) only a kilt is required for activation. This is my submission.
This is a Sport Kilt in firefighter tartan. I have the matching flashes.
I do have a day sporran on order for this kilt.
If I am not wearing something correctly please let me know. I was so excited to put it all on.
I love it! Already planning my next purchase which will be a more traditional kilt!

I think it all looks very sharp - congratulations on the kilt and here's to many more!

Looks good!
So, what "day sporran" did you decide upon?

And that is going to be difficult. Seeing all the excellent custom sporrans on this site does NOT help!
First off, I would suggest you go into the DIY section of the board and select an artisan from this community to make you a sporran. We have plenty of good ones- Artificer is a master! I do have to say, though, that a plain black sporran with that tartan will look really classy. I like a good, clean, simple look.
Second, your outfit looks just fine. I have one critique that I always offer, though- your white kilt hose. Nothing pulls an outfit together like a nice pair of socks, and with all the colors to choose from, why go with plain ol' white?
Third, and most importantly-

Because I don't know any better!
But that is why I am here!
What color hose would be a better choice? Is there a section to tell us how to coordinate what to wear with a kilt?

Looks definitely great to me.
A plain black sporran should be a good choice. At least that is what I prefer for casual wear, which is how I use my kilts 95% of the time.

Welcome from a Whidbey Islander currently residing in the middle of nowhere.
Looks pretty sharp! You're off to a good start.
A plain black sporran will get the job done for now. You'll probably have at least one other eventually. Probably more. I'm in the market for a new sporran myself right now and can sympathize with the overload of options. Take your time and get a good one. A cheap crappy sporran is a bigger pain than not having one at all.
Have fun with it and welcome to the obsession.
