    Visiting Baltimore

    Rabble;
    I will be in Baltimore most of March for training. What is there to do/see downtown, near the harbor?
    Anything going on worth paying for an extra bag to bring my kilt and stuff?

    When is it not good to bring kilt and kit?

    There is a Tir na Nog (Irish Pub) at the Inner Harbor and I've never seen them turn up their noses at a kilt - there are several bands playing there in March. Oh, and don't forget St. Patrick's day.

    Hi there, I'm mostly a lurker here, but I wanted to break silence for a moment to share my favorite Baltimore watering holes.

    1) Owl Bar, in the lobby of the Belvedere Hotel on 1 East Chase Street. Fantastic atmosphere, good food, lots of great craft beers on draft. The place is a former speakeasy and the owl's eyes used to be lit up to warn if a raid was imminent.

    2) Brewer's Art on 1106 North Charles Street, a microbrewery & restaurant. The basement is much better than the upstairs and features the cheaper bar menu. Gotta try the peppercorn tripel or the famous Resurrection ale.

    3) Max's Taphouse on 737 South Broadway has a dazzling array of craft beers on draft from far and near. Also the mussel pots are wonderful.

    4) Pratt Street Alehouse on 6 West Pratt Street is another microbrewery & restaurant, offering lots of fantastic beers in the English mild/bitter styles.

    Have fun in Baltimore!

    I will be marching in the Parade on the 13th. I will be in the Saffron kilt with the Irish Wolfhounds. Make a noise and join us in the march.

    Geppi's Entertainment Museum (next to the ballpark) is a really great museum of pop culture, if you are into that.

    Sorry guys, but couldn't bring the kilt. No room. It is difficult to pack for a month of business attire.
