How heavy is your sporran?
I have been having some apron-not-laying-flat issues, partly related to the amount of junk in my sporran.
I got my contents down under 30 ounces, wallet, keys, unsmart phone and Tom Mix pocket knife.
It's made a difference. I am looking at both utilitarian sgians dubh and possibly coming up with a lighter sattelite wallet for the essentials.
I bet I can get sporran contents down to 10-12 ozs if I work at it, curious if I need to.

I keep wallet, phone and keys. That's it. I have no idea how much it weighs, but I've never had a problem with it.
Edit: For you military types out there, I also keep a challenge coin (now). Got busted on that once. It won't happen again

As a physician virtually always on call (even when out of town or out of country) I have a little bit more than the average bear to carry with me---typically pager, smartphone, ID and keys for work, plus my own personal cell, wallet, car keys, cash, handkerchief, eye drops, chapstick, and a small medicine vial (emergency doses for a heart rhythm condition). All that stuff does not fit in a single sporran, and the cells and pager don't look good hanging off the belt with the kilt. So I typically put all the work stuff in my sporran with my wallet (sans cash, driver's license and a credit card or two which I keep in a mini-wallet) eye drops, handkerchief and meds, and use a small belt pouch over my left hip to carry the actively used gear---personal cell, mini-wallet, car keys--as it is smaller and shallower than the sporran and easier to get into and out of (I am not fond of the appearence of digging for the bottom of my sporran in my crotch so frequently). I will try to weigh out my stuff when I get a minute later today around my scale for a better idea of my "load".

I've always got wallet, keys, and cell and that's about it except for tissues (in case my eyes water), eyedrops if my eyes are feeling dry, and a couple foam earplugs (to quickly shut off a drone if it malfunctions at a gig).
My sporran is fairly large and heavy and it can hold a lot of stuff.

So you opted for a full-face sporran, I see.

I think you might be going down the wrong trail here. Surely it is for high or low you wear your sporran that makes the biggest difference, not how much it weighs?

I keep my phone, wallet, keys then the other junk that I think I'll need during the time I'll be out.
I have a challenge coin I picked up in Cyprus a few years back, I don't carry mine about because no one over here would know what it was.
The hielan' man he wears the kilt, even when it's snowin';
He kens na where the wind comes frae,
But he kens fine where its goin'.
