What's the weirdest thing you ever ate?
I thought this would be interesting. What's the weirdest thing you ever ate? What did you think? Was it good? Why?
The weirdest thing I ever ate was pig brain. I didn't mind it. It tasted like liver. I think if it was prepared differently it could be fantastic. The texture was a little odd. It was like flan. I would have it again if it was prepared differently. I had it from a roasted pig straight from the skull.
Let's have it people! I think it will surprise some how our weirdest food ever is anothers favorite comfort food.
Let YOUR utterance be always with graciousness, seasoned with salt, so as to know how you ought to give an answer to each one.

I eat cacti, make good pickles.
Some of the Mexican food I've eaten over the years had weird things in it. I try not to think about it...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Prickles might be more apt... apparently it still had the spines... was about the size of a gherkin though...

I've eaten far too many things that would make a billygoat puke. I'm interested to see what others post.

What a fun topic on a board where people regularly swap haggis recipes!
I am what I think of as an "adventurous eater". It's easier to list things I will not eat. I draw the line at brains....and octopus. Octopi (octopuses?) are just too cool to eat to me. Brains, well I guess I'm saving those for when I come back as one of the zombified horde.
We frequent the markets here in our local Chinatown, and sometimes need to google not only how to prepare some of this stuff, but to know what it is.. after buying it. Duck tongue, fish eyeballs, beef pizzle, tongue, tendon, tail...if it doesn't move chances are, I've eaten it or it's on the menu. (As a side, if anyone knows what to do with skinned duck heads or spleen, please let me know.... If nothing else, it amuses me to open the freezer and see an 8 pack of duck heads looking at me)
I spent a lot of time learning how to cook and am still learning, for a good reason. My grandmother was not a good cook, and I can safely say that chicken battered in dog food is not a good combination. I wish I could say I was making that up. Seriously people, don't do that. The brand doesn't matter. Yes, I also know that from experience after going over the river and through the woods.

I think that on the whole I would prefer not to think about it!
