    And Another thing

Another great thing about kilts. My ship and another docked in Seattle last weekend. IN an effort to show the locals how true canadian hockey is played and to settle the cock of the walk award for best ship, the other ship challenged mine to a road hockey game on the jetty. (played with two nets, sticks with hard plastic blades and a tennis ball instead of a puck). Every kid in Canada has played road hockey at some point. There are even special rules like "Car" - which temporarily stops the game so you can move the nets out of the way, and "Game on" which is self explanitory. ANyway - my ship was duty for the nest that day so we only had a third of the players than the other ship, so I felt obligated to play hard, especially since the other CO was playing as well. Seems I stepped on a stick blade while digging for the ball and my foot rolled over - snapped my fibia.

Kudos to the emergency folks at the dowtown Seattle hospital - they had me fixed up in about 20 minutes. Did a good enough job I was able to hobble back on board and take the ship to sea the next day so we could get home to Canada.

But what has this to do with kilts - well - they work so much better than pants when you are wearing a big blue boot for a cast.

My dad has prostate cancer. He's been wearing his a lot more often to make things a little more comfortable. It is indeed a great thing to have when you hav medical issues of the lower body. Here's to speedy recoveries!

I hope you heal quickly; that's got to hurt.
But the burning question is: DID YOU WIN?

First of all, I'm glad you're (relatively) ok, and that you get better soon.
