An unexpected surprise!
I am 29 years old and have been happily married for almost 5 years now. Monday my wife called me and asked me to accompany her at home. It seems that after close to 5 years of strategic flawless execution, scotch + fun, does in fact = babies !
I'm the youngest of 8 childeren, all of which are married and have at least 2 kids of their own. So ultimately it's the next step for me. We were just trying to delay this for at least another 3 to 4 more years. As the days go on I'm progressively warming up to the fact that i'm entering fatherhood. I'm still just wicked nervous about it. So if anyone wants to throw out some prayers, they'll be gladly accepted.

No reason to be nervous. Just love the little bundle. I don't agree with Piper. You won't enjoy every moment. A colicky baby at 2am, or just as you are about to practice making another is not fun, but you will survive.

Congratulations! The first six months are the hardest, if you can make through them (you will) your good to go.
Somebody ought to.

Congratulations! Wonder, awe, joy and pride are all given to fathers plus a wee dose of anxiety, frustration and increased responsibility. Prayers have been offered.

Re: An unexpected surprise!
Neither of my two kids were exactly planned, but nether was a surprise. Some activities have expected outcomes!
While it is a lot of effort and some worrying, I wouldn't trade mine for the world. Getting through the first six months is the hardest. After that, their personality really starts to come through and it gets more fun by the day. Still labor intensive, trying to raise a responsible human being, but also fun.
Hang on and enjoy the ride! Soon you'll be looking back wondering where the time went as the little baby graduates high school.
