    Unexpected comment

We were out and about earlier today and I was wearing my Monarch of the Glen Tartan.
We must have walked 200yds or so up this particular road heading to a small cafe, run by a lovely family, that do a great full traditional breakfast, and cheap in todays economic climate. Just as we turned to enter the door of the cafe, this voice from behind said 'That is a beautiful cilt/kilt and I have been mesmorised watching it swing back n forth as you have walked up the road'. Then she said again 'its beautiful', smiled and went on her way. Guess she be in her late 40's.
All I could do was smile at her and say thankyou. Thats it. No more was said and we went and had a lovely breakfast.

That's my favorite part of kilts - watching them sway and swing on the wearer!

The thing I like about the Kilt is it stirs that kind of reaction in people. I had a similar experience recently in York as we paused for ten minutes in a second hand book shop. A woman, late 50's-ish came up to me, tapped me on the shoulder and said "Excuse me, I do love to see a man in a Kilt and you look fantastic." She then turned and went without really giving me chance to respond other than a "thank you very much."

Made her happy, made me feel great!

I'll wager if you'd have been in trousers Derek, she wouldn't even have noticed you let alone speak to you.

Wonderful comment. I'll admit, even I like watching the kilt swish. It can be somewhat mezmorizing.

I agree John .. she wouldnt have spoken at all if I had been in trousers. I guess the cilt/kilt is like owning a dog. Its a conversational opener. And like John said, it made her happy and me happy too. Isnt the cilt/kilt a cool piece of guys clothing for any age.
