Clans Fraser & Fraser of Lovat

I don't know why, but I have always associated myself with the Fraser of Lovat Clan. My family history indicates a George Thomas Fraser who was born in Inverness c 1725, but the documentation isn't as strong as I would like.

Tonight, I downloaded an app for my iPhone called "ScotClans". Among its features is a map that shows the lands of the different clans. This app shows the "Ancestral home of Fraser" as Beaufort Castle, which appears to be located west of Inverness. The ancestral home of Fraser of is shown as "Castle Fraser, Aberdeenshire".

I had always been under the impression that Inverness was home to the Lovat Clan. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
