Differences between Clan Fraser and Fraser of Lovat?

So, Recently i started digging into my family history, and i'm confused (especially tartan shopping) the differences between Clans Fraser and Fraser of Lovat. Are there any?

The short answer is "yes". See the link below for a good (and official) explanation:

Great links David, you beat me to it! LOL! Host Paul Murton did a superb job explaining these differences in the series entitled, Scotland's Clans, 2007, where Clan Fraser is discussed. Mr. Murton visits Beauly in Inverness-shire, epicenter of traditional Clan Fraser lands, and speaks with the current Fraser Chief over a pint, as well as discussing Clan Fraser history with various Scottish historians. Quite a splendid series (sidenote - series is available on Netflix).

I watched the whole series. Yes very good but Paul Murton only wore jeans, never a kilt, not even for his own clan MacGregor. Dissapointing imho.
