Help FROM the ladies FOR my ladies

Ok, ladies among the rabble. We did some digging in my wife's family and discovered to our mutual joy that she's of Scottish ancestry. She and my daughters want to wear their tartan, that of Clan MacLaren. Bear in mind that the girls are still growing and my wife defines the word "thrifty".
What recommendations can you, the ladies of X-Marks, make for a source for inexpensive tartan skirts?

I'll leave the ladies to answer your question. But I thought you might like to know, in light of your discovery, that one of the dignitaries attending the New Hampshire Highland Games this September is the Chief of the Clan Maclaren, Donald MacLaren of MacLaren and Achleskine. Seems it might be fun and memorable for your wife to meet him and you, of course, can visit us in the Buchanan Clan Tent.
One suggestion for your daughters would be the MacLaren Modern from Sportkilt.com . I know my girls wore the Buchanan from SportKilt which were inexpensive but looked good. And there may very well be other makers similar with other options.

I don't know about tartan skirts, but Stillwater Kilts (Advertiser on the right =>) has Maclaren tartan sashes for less than $20.

A very good option Mikilt. Many of our clanswomen go with a sash.

Also a fine option. I just bought my kilt from them, and was thrilled at their price and quality.
