Hello HM! I'm in Woo'stock right now, but a lifelong Londoner. My only London piper friend passed away a few years ago. Nobody at AC.

Re: Advice from pipers please . . . .
Glad to hear of another piper added to our ranks.
You'll probably find that there is some difficulty in the movement required in some of the embellishments, but that is a matter of ease of learning, not of impossibility. Young fingers are more agile, older fingers have more determination to get it right. Stick with it. Even if you never become a stellar piper, you can learn to play well enough to enjoy yourself and please those around you.
There is also a rather large collection of traditional hymns called The Church Piper. Somewhere around a dozen volumes.
I wish I believed in reincarnation. Where's Charles Martel when you need him?

Ahh ic.. Just a shot in the dark. LOL! I have a friend with vicar friend who was showing alot of interest to learn to play. What band are you playing with. Our band here in London. (London Fire Fighters Pipe Band) Offer a free piping school (just gotta pay for John Cairns books.) every Monday night. We have 3 instructors including myself. Once a student is playing on pipes they then move into our grade 5 band then our grade 4. It's a pretty good process.

Playing with Ingersoll P.B. Similar arrangement - you learn, you march

Is me. Used to play with Strathclyde Police, years ago, but due to some weird stuff, they now don't have a website.
Love to see all these bands

Actually it's the Brown Haired Maiden next.
But I'm off for a few weeks, so I'll just have to keep Wha Hae-ing.
