Obviously I have a serious case of AMMS. I very much like the pic of you playing the pipes and even more so the pic of you with your walking stick. If you look at my pics in the August 1 thread you will note that I did much the same thing. Lovat blue jacket and hose. blue Balmoral with kilt and tie in matching tartan. Sorry if it offends people but I like the look.

    What a maroon!

Gotta love a hand sewn tank with a tank top....

Native friends told me that's not what they meant by "Redman"

    So I tried white instead...

I steered Bob down a few wrong paths in our early days, with "helpful" advice from outwith this forum. Here is his first kilted outing in the Weathered MacWerner fashion tartan kilt I made (complete with Velcro waistband, I confess), shirt peeking from beneath the borrowed PC, and white hose.

The rest of the story. . . looking somewhat glassy-eyed, thanks perhaps to the jabot worn with PC (not a bad look, IMHO, but we've since gone black tie) and ribbons (since replaced by proper mini-medals).

As "wrong" goes, I don't think any one element is terrible, but in combination -- oh my!

Those outwith the forum are still showing up at our clan dinner dance in, for example, full PC rig but sporting a Rob Roy style sporran. Now THAT'S just wrong, when I happen to know the fellow owns his grandfather's silver-cantled sealskin dress sporran!

    Military Madness

Just tryin' to match the gold stripe...(Leatherneck tartan)

Seemed like a good idea at the time. (Royal Air Force tartan)

Scrambled fabric - leather, cotton, PV, wool....(Army tartan)

Man Overboard. Navy tartan shirt with Navy tartan kilt....right...sure thing....give it a try...

Sometimes I get a bad case of "kilt poisoning."

It seems I'm getting a lot of mileage out of this picture, though I actually only wore it all together for about 10 minutes the night before my son's wedding...
