Post On the bucket list no longer!

    Hello All!

I stated in another thread that my family have lived in the state of Texas for many generations going back to the years that Texas was a republic and perhaps earlier. Some time back I became aware that there was an official Texas State Tartan called the Texas Bluebonnet Tartan and I hoped to have a kilt made in the tartan to honor my family, my state, and my country. Being tartan it hearkens back to my Scots-Irish heritage, my people and their pioneer spirit.

A few days ago my wife asked me what I wanted for our anniversary and I told her that I wished I could have a kilt in the Bluebonnet Tartan that I've always wanted and she said lets order it. So now I am having the worst case of the jones that I've ever had and at the same time I'm humbled by this gracious gift my wife has presented me.

She has asked for a tam and scarf in the Ulster Modren and a brooch to wear with her kilted skirt in safforn that was a Christmas gift one year. FYI this marks our 41st on October 27th.

Thank-you for sharing in this moment with us.

Well, Congratulations! Not only on the "jones" but on the 41 years. Indeed a milestone in more ways than one.
(BTW, my wife and I made it 40 years in June.)

Both the bluebonnet and the ulster are very nice tartans. I am sure you two will look great! You have got a loving wife for her to buy you a kilt for your anniversary!

    Bill and Couper,

Congrats to both of you and your spouses. 40 and 41 years are two wonderful milestones to make, especially in today's world. Bill, also congrats on your new kilt you will be receiving. Make sure you get your wife those special gifts for her birthday or Christmas or for no special reason, just because...

Hope you both have a great weekend.

    Tom

And we will of course require pictures when they come in. Congrats on your 41st.

Thank-you gentlemen for your good wishes! I think 41 years is pretty special too it means that she hasn't tossed my shoes out the door yet along with everything that goes with them and in them!

There are some other things I intend to gift her with but since she visits here I must keep my silence about them for now.

Perhaps someone could help me locate two kilt pins that would convey the spirit of the Great State of Texas as I'm having no joy in finding one. Being vision impaired crafting something is not currently in the cards. I have a picture in my mind of the Lone Star and the Texas Bluebonnet encircling the star like a wreath set on a two handed sword. Has anyone run across anything like this?

Thank-you again to y'all for your help! BTW the "y'all is not an affectation it does indeed live happily in my grammer as do ma'm and other tidbits! "wink"
