Looking good! I second McMurdo's recommendation on the sporran and I think the light hose work well with the outfit.
Unless USMC formal functions are significaantly more rowdy the other formal functions I don't think you will need the rapier. Though if you insist on wearing it I hope you have a suitable main gauche as well.

they do tend to be a bit rowdier than most, but for us old timers, things are a bit tamer than in our impetuous youth.
And, I think that a mamaluke sword may be in order for this particular Marine. Am I correct, McVarmit?

mr. cossack from clan McSemperfi, i like it and McPuller as well, guess we have a pretty large clan.
the great hose debate, for me its a question of mood, today i felt off white, tommorrow who knows.
marine reunions do have a tendency to get a little out of hand, of coarse we are all 60 or older, but still one should always go armed to these events. you never know about them damn flashbacks.

You may already be aware of Don, but he does some very nice USMC items
http://scottishregalia.com/
I have the kilt pin shown on his web site but I was fortunate enough to get it in pewter instead of the gold. You might contact him and inquire if he has others or could get them.
Last I heard, the one I got was a sample from the forge that had been laying around. If demand is there he might be willing to produce more of them.

McVarmit, I have a source for the replica USMC NCO sword at a cost of $50.00. If cost is an issue. I personally have about 45 swords, including two damascus bladed Viking swords. You look GREAT! I agree Chesty would be proud.
You look great too, McMurdo!
As always, Thank You for your Service!
