A few from my cousin's recent wedding. A good combination of a Scottish family joining an Irish one...

My Cousins Wedding
Late April in East Calder. There were many kilts at the wedding, but no specific kilt photos. For me this was about connecting with family for the first time with all but one.
Marie and myself
The couple
The wedding party. Kenny, the young guy at the left played the pipes during the service "Highland Cathedral".
Three generations of my family. The wee man, Iain just loved the camera. The older man is my fathers brother, he is so alike my dad it was scary (my dad died from cancer 12 years ago)
Marie and myself with Calum
My self made sporran went down well, I had one of the ushers at the wedding patting it and calling it Skippy as it's made from Eastern Grey Kangaroo skin.
I really enjoyed this, it was worth the long trip over. Will post more Scots pics soonish.

Exchange of Tartan?
I'm looking for a framework to work with for my brother's speech upon pinning my bride with our tartan.
Any help?

I'm gonna bring this one back to the front, because my wedding is getting closer.
Has anyone seen a "traditional" pinning of tartan?

I have never seen it, but then I don't go to weddings. I seem to remember reading that it dates back to some time in the 1990's.

Would that be the 1890's? Couldn't tell if you were being ironic or not?

Stewart-Walker Pinning of the Tartan Ceremony...

Sorry for such a late reply, but there is a piccy of my wife's pinning at our wedding back in December in the thread I posted regarding such (http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...448/index.html). Can't say it was "traditional" cause I've never seen one either. But if it gives you some groundwork to go on, I had my mom pin a swatch size piece of MacGregor (hunting) tartan on my new bride with her Luckenbooth broach, which is what I gave her for our engagement. I would have used a full on sash, but we couldn't find one in the "Hunting" aka MacGregor of Cardney to match my kilt. Instead I ordered a hunting Macgregor tartan swatch from Matt at the Tartan Museum. Probably should've just gone with the Red (modern colours) MacGregor in a Sash... hindsight, eh?
I left it to my Mom the welcome of my new bride into the family/clan. Here's a so-so piccy of the event. My dad is at the right announcing for the guests the ceremony. It was a nice way for the family to be involved in the event.
Here's a close-up taken by the photographers, for what it's worth...
Pour1Malt sent me a GREAT script (which I would be happy to forward) that I used for ideas for my own wedding script. We didn't quite have enough guests versed in Scottish tradition/history to carry off the fun things he did, but it was a good time, and a very special occasion none the less. Hope yours is, too.
Aye,
Wesley

I'd appreciate it very much.
