Hey Capt. Karrot, thought the tat thing was just not in the last year. Every time I get a new tat I gotta wait a year to donate. I've heard that if you've massive tat work they nix you...hasn't happened for me yet.

Many benefits of donation to the donor. Fastest way to lose a pound and skim off cholesteral. Regular donations condition your body to making new blood so if you ever get cut bad or have surgery your body recovers a lot faster.

For me, not donating blood regularly would be like not changing the oil in my car regular.

    And I'm O+ too.

And, now I'm kicking myself for at least not checking to make sure I was too old for her...she should make that decision, not me...might have had a happy surprise....

About six months ago I was on my way downtown by way of light rail. At one stop someone was just smiling, they saw my neck piece I was wearing. At least that what made them come to me on the train. Total surprise when they also saw the Kilt.

They sure do; I have one and I've seen boatloads of them at Celtic fests. Mine looks like Gman's avatar.
If they outlaw guns, can we go back to using swords?

    Thumbs up

Sounds pretty cool. I'll have to read up on which earrings go best with a kilt look. Although, I would guess that you could accessorize like with a kilt pin and so on based on a theme. Like a Scottish theme or Navajo, or what ever just so it all goes together. Thanks.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Well, they probably weren't looking at that part of your anatomy.

Here's the American Red Cross rule for tattoos:

Wait 12 months after being treated for syphilis or gonorrhea.
Oops that was the rule about donations from Marines. Here's the one about tattoos:

    Tattoo
Wait 12 months after a tattoo if the tattoo was applied in a state that does not regulate tattoo facilities. This requirement is related to concerns about hepatitis.

Acceptable if the tattoo was applied by a state-regulated entity using sterile needles and ink that is not reused. Only a few states currently regulate tattoo facilities, so most donors with tattoos must wait 12 months after tattoo application before donating blood. You should discuss your particular situation with the health historian at the time of donation.
    Best regards,

    Jake
