She went to the initial tryouts, which was the 1st round. That stage took the longest by far. We got there at 5:30am and I didn't actually tryout until 3:30 or so. Oh my God it was horrible! I hate waiting in line, so waiting in line with 10,000 people was insane. The 2nd round and 3rd round were the same day. They lasted a while too, but definately not as long. I was the 1st to go in the 2nd and 3rd round, so that wasn't too bad.

I thought they were pretty nice. It was hard for me to get mad when they didn't pass me to the 4th round. It's not like a trained for it or spent lots of time getting ready. I just did it to make my wife happy and she was very happy, so that's all I cared about.

Oh yeah, apparently there's a shot of me in the latest issue of US Weekly(has Heath Ledger on the cover). It's cool that I am in a national publication, but I'm in their "Idol's Wacky Wardrobes" section. What's up with that? Is a kilt really that "wacky"? And is it so "wacky" that my photo got chosen out of almost 100,000 other competitors? I honestly didn't think so, but I guess I was wrong.

You're a more patient man than I. I don't even go grocery shopping after work because of my hatred of lines. Where's the pictures?

"Wacky" is a bit much, but maybe they were talking in terms of "different" or "eccentric," and they wanted to rock some consonance. And they couldn't use "woolly" because no one else fit the bill, except the hippie guy with the long nails and the fan, and maybe that one guy in the Princess Leia outfit, pre-wax job.

Eh, at least you'll have something fun to show your kids!
