The Weatherspoons pub chain specialise in taking over existing properties here in the UK. Noteable ones I have been in are the Counting House, Glasgow (former bank), another former bank in Perth (forget the name), and the most spectacular was the former theatre in Llandudno (forget the name too).
Looks like a nice place. Unfortunately, no banks around here ever close down and become something else. Rather they cause other places to close down and become...well...nothing! We do, however, have our fair share of train stations morphed into restaurants.

Derek,
It's great to see you back again - it's been a long time!
I guess you can always bank on getting a good meal there! Perhaps we could cheque it out next time I am in Cardiff? , and I must say I enjoyed the account of the gang's visit.
Take care,
Ham.
