Wow, that looks really, really terrible!
The first guy does faintly resemble Pee-Wee Herman/Paul Reuben. It not just the shorts that look bad. The shoes don't work, the jacket is too snug, and his posture is poor as well.
The second guy looks like he buckled a belt onto his boxer shorts and walked out the door, forgetting the rest of his suit!
The third? Well, it looks better but still not my bag, I guess.

OMG that was my exact thought when I read the article earlier this evening. I too was wondering if the kilt would be mentioned in the article, and was disappointed when it wasn't.

Fashion faux pas
OMG! These clowns have to be tongue-in-cheek examples. They can't possibly be serious! And some people raise an eyebrow when they see a kilt?! That's why you can't believe what you read in the newpaper!

Kilts R them
Well guys, I took the 3 dudes to my tailor's and kitted them out. They look a tad better, but I guess that they all could do with socks. The 1st laddie still looks scary. The 2nd guy really looks better in a skirt rather than a kilt (sorry chaps), but none of `em are a patch on any o youse!
Somehow shoes and no socks looks wrong.

I can't enjoy the pictures, but read all the comments... Dressy slides would be much better than the shoes without socks I would think. If the shorts are around knee lingth and some what like slacks, paired with a short sleve button down shirt and tie... I think it would look quite good. Ehh, I don't think shoes without socks would work, but maybe scrunched down socks...
Do the whole outfit in corduroy with a jacket.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

kilted shorties
If you`d like me to struggle and put socks on em too and kilt the black guy then I will - but not today - my eyes are shot!

I'll just say that, to this New Yorker's eyes, the photos are not of "real" people, but of fashion models. As such, they are as liable to extreme in the outfit as any dress one sees in the news of the latest fashion show of a big designer.
Bottom line, these get-ups are OUT THERE, but intentionally so.
