Aye, I should also be on her waiting list for a woad-coloured one, having contacted her about it back in January/Feburary earlier this year.
If you be "TH" then you are just ahead of me on her list.
You being a GENTLEMAN, & a "fellow NW.Washingtonian" how about "dropping out", so I can move up ??

It's really closer to the color of the pics with me in it than it is the ones at top which had a flash-more of a purpley/blue tweed.
That's a very nice bonnet, thistlelass. Maybe you can meet the rest of the local rabble at the Stone Mountain Games this weekend and show us how it looks up close and personal. It certainly looks nice on your head.
This is a very bad photo of me wearing my balmoral on a very cool day, and I agree that my old, worn bonnet is a real friend of many winters. I bought it as the first item of Scottish attire while on a trip to Denver while I was waiting on my first kilt to arrive.

Thanks Jim! We're looking forward to meeting the local rabble and renewing old friendships this weekend!

Even though it doesn't get too cold in Arizona compared to many other places in the country and world, everyone has to remember that our blood here is also a lot thinner than some of you cold weather kilties, and we're not as acustomed to what you'd consider cold. That being said though I prefer a 100% wool hat like this on cold days. It definitely keeps my head warm.

Anyone tried these hats from Fergusson Brit? I love the color choices.

In the times it's really cold I'm usually wearing a good wool cap. But I try to make sure they go with either my kilt or the jacket. If I'm wearing my black kilt, I'll wear my black wool knit cap:

(Sorry it's not the best picture, the regular version would have been too big.)
But, I plan to buy a new grey herringbone flat cap, as the one I currently have was my great-grandfather's from when he was young - and it's showing it's age.
