The Sporran and Chain/Belt are both just grand.

I took a few close ups of mine, unfortunately when I went to my local tartan shop they did not have the chain I was looking for, they only had one and so I bought it, here are a few close ups.

Those are gorgeous as well Barb. I must have been living under a rock or something, because these spiffy ones are pretty sweet looking.

We carry a similar fancy sporran chain. Be prepared, it ain't cheap:

Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

This style of chain is a great way to really dress up a formal outfit, but I would consider it a bit much for general wear.

The concern about a chain causing wear on the kilt really applies mostly to those who wear their kilts with a chain strap on a regular basis. I tend to see that kind of wear mostly on band kilts, where the owner may have worn it marching in parade on weekends for years. For the once-in-a-while wearing of a chain strap, it's not that much of a concern.

Nice chains and they are certainly a way to add some more "bling" to an outfit. As far as wear goes, the only problem I ever had was with the spring catches. They weren't properly finished and a rough edge pulled a thread on the apron. Nowadays I always check every link and catch for rough edges.

I recently saw a picture of a man kilted with a leather braided sporran strap. It looked to be a round braided leather. It was nice. Understated and would certainly minimize wear I think it would be great in the field or for day wear.. I liked the look but I can not remember where I saw it.

I like all that I see above! Thanks for bringing them to our attention. They're sweet.

Now I have to add that to my list of wants. -- especially for formal wear.
