I'm really sorry that we did NOT play the Grandfather Mountain gig this year. I apologize to you guys for having to miss-out on one year of the fun, but we were booked long in advance of the offer. From what the other performers are telling me about he heat... well... maybe I'm not too sorry!
I also heard that they could have used us.

Jimmy Carbomb,
It was rather toasty outside of the shade and there were not many clouds. My wife is now an entertaining shade of red from that day.

My best regards go out to one and all.
Sorry to read that you had a serious family situation, I hope you were able to take care of it successfully. I missed seeing you on the mountain, it was my first time there. I had a great time marching with 16 other members of my family clan in the Parade of Tartans on Sunday. One was a little girl who just turned 2 years old. She had tartan wrapped around her as she marched all around the track holding the handle of a sword while her daddy held the blade up in the air.
After riding the shuttle bus down to my car, I found my keys hanging in the ignition locked inside and I got that sinking feeling knowing that my spare key was in my coin purse about 150 miles away in Pigeon Forge TN. I hadn't taken it along since my sporran and belt side pouch were already filled. In the morning I had jumped out of my car and grabbed my sporran and carrybag backpack and put them on rushing to get the bus. So I didn't know my keys were locked in till I got back to my car.
One of the workers with the shuttle bus got my door open in a couple of minutes to save my day. That was my only glitch of the day.

It really was just unnecessarily hot. Someone needs to plan better for next year.
I have to admit that I spent most of the weekend lying in my hammock in the shade reading. It was just too darned hot to do much else, and I needed some down time after a busy hiking schedule the past two weeks.
Sorry I missed out on the Sunday photo...was busy packing the band kitchen and tent.

About 2:30 or so the clouds came over and the temperature dropped a few degrees, and a nice breeze started up. It was almost like being in the mountains of western North Carolina.
