Grandfather Mt. Highland Games
The Grandfather Mountain Highland Games, near Linville, NC, is being hosted in July. My husband and I are thinking about making the trip to North Carolina to spend a few days with my Father-in-Law. If we do, we're going to go to the Highland Games at Grandfather Mountain. Is anyone else going to go?

I hope to be there.
If all goes well we will be there on Friday and on Sunday.
Unless I can talk the wife in to camping.

My wife and I had been tentatively planning on going there this year (we've never been) but now, with a baby due July 8th, it's out of the question. Matt Newsome, Macsim and a lot of other Xmarkers will likely be there, so I'm sure you'll run into them. Have a great time, GFMHG always looks like fun!

I'm hoping to get to them this year. I've never made it to G'father before. I'll probably just be going for the festival and not competing in the games.

If the good Lord's willin' and the creek don't rise, I'll be there. (The missus doesn't know it yet, but we'll get there.)
I think we should plan an X-markers gathering on Saturday. We could all get together, pass around a we dram, and then reive the locals' cattle and take over the whole place.
Well, we could get together, meet, and talk at least.

I am hoping to get to Grandfather Mt this year. I have never been to there before. My folks have recently relocated to Braselton, GA. So, I now have a better excuse to go on a road trip. My wife is or will be more willing to let me throw some clothes together and take the kids to visit "Grandma and Paw Paw". I am looking forward to the better access to the regional activities up there.
Jim, I would look forward to an XMarks "clan gathering". Been along time since I reived cattle and made the gentry nervous! I think I am about due! I hope to have a sporran flask by then so I can pass a dram around myself.

Yeah, Grandfather Mountain is alot of fun. A Saturday get-together of X-Markers sounds good! I'll bring a bottle of single malt, maybe we can have a big Whisky tasting!

Grandfather rocks!
Our family went for the first time last year. Camped and had a great time. We certainly plan on going again this year. Stay tuned for developments. Would be really great to meet some of you in person!

Man, I wish I could go this year. It had been my plan as it is one of the few times the US clan association for MacKinnon travells east. but, unfortunately, I will be in Albuquerque in that time attending my nephews wedding.

Well, we missed this one last year, but would love to go this year. Does anybody have a website for the Games? How about campgrounds in the area? We would tow our trailer up.
