Thank you. I do in fact have that very pattern but as longhuntr pointed out, it's not what we conventionally think of as a "Rob Roy". I am hoping to find a pattern for a drawstring sporran like the one Liam Neeson wore in the movie Rob Roy. Apologies, I should have been more clear

Not a problem...but I don't have that one on hand. If you happen across it, I'd appreciate a copy, if you don't mind..

I used a pattern from this set for my Rob Roy:

It needed a little tweeking, but worked out well. In particular, I used the ones on the bottom left. I used deer tanned kid skin for the bag, and veg tanned leather for a stiffener and reenforcer for the front and back.

Pattern "I" I assume? I have been issued a challenge to make a Rob Roy sporran using no animal products at all. I'll probably use canvas or hemp. With the right pattern, it shouldn't be too tough.

H and I are almost identical. I don't remember which... Anyway, trying to keep it as primitive as possible, this was my result:

Not too bad, especially for a first attempt! It's not nearly so polished as Budd's, but I was actually going for that. Oh yeah- and the flap is buttoned on, so it's interchangable! I need to get off my rear and make a new one...

    Nighthawk,
Yes, I recall that sporran from your original thread. I love your use of antler. I had intended to incorporate some of your design features in my sporran. I'll keep you posted.

I look forward to seeing it! Do you have antler? I can't send you a crown, but I do have plenty of antler from which I can make you a button, if you need.
