Despicable Me movie character
So, I finally got around to this movie, and was very surprised to see the main female character, Margo, in what looks like punked-up highland dress:
She's actually wearing a skirt, but her single-button jacket is cut away to accommodate a sporran.
The movie is charming in its way, probably better if a kid is watching with you.

Odd coincidence...
I just watched it with my wife and kids (well mostly watched...I'll confess that I was surfing for suits on the internet at the same time) this morning. I guess I didn't equate the skirt to a kilt...or wasn't paying close enough attention.

When I saw the movie it did not even register, but at a second glance, I can see the resemblance.

I'll admit that my wife and i dropped the kids off with a sitter and watched it. I enjoyed it. Gru reminded me of my company V.P. And Margo reminded me of my sister-in-law. And the cookie scheme reminded me that I still have a package of Thin Mints hidden from my son. Yummy!
I didn't notice the kilted skirt at the theater, but now that you mention it, the jacket is very much cut to accomodate a sporran.
I wish I believed in reincarnation. Where's Charles Martel when you need him?

I guess I just assumed it was a generic "school girl" type skirt. The jacket does appear like a cut-away, but I'm fairly certain that cut isn't terribly unusual in woman's wear (although it's a bit out of date).
The movie was pretty good, though. If you plan on picking up the dvds, make sure you get the 3 extra movie 'shorts'. The minions are hilarious.

Ditto. Me thinks more convergence than highland intention on the way she's dressed (drawn?); I think the intention was a wardrobe put together from bits and pieces of hand-me down items.
Movie was funny! I loved the end credits. ith:
