Someone said it was MacIntosh, but it doesn't look like it as it has yellow in it. The colours, in case the photo isn't good enough quality are: Redblackyellowbluewhiteand a bit of purple/pink Thanks!!

Hmmm. There is a distinct absence of green in my tartan and I see the one you have suggested has quite a bit of green in it.
Ooops, I have since gone beyond your original link that shows lots of green and found other samples elsewhere, e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Royal_stewart.jpg, which does show my exact pattern. Thanks for your help@http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Royal_stewart.jpg
It's missing the green, but it does look like a variation of Royal Stewart.

You picture shows a very different weave being a plain weave, rather than a twill weave which is the usual way that tartans are woven.

Judging by the weave, as well as the fact that the warp is not the same sett as the weft, I'm guessing this is not a real tartan at all. It's probably one of thousands of "plaid" patterns found in flannel shirts, boxer shorts, pajama sets, etc. I have a pair of boxer shorts with virtually that exact same pattern! They will generally look like a well-known tartan, but they are not.
